STRONG: Train the Trainer
LIVE, IN-PERSON 3 DAY TRAINING
Three day, in-person training includes:
+ One copy of STRONG: 50 innovative, interactive, practical lesson plans designed for work with both parents and professionals
+ Grounding in the Strengthening Families™ Protective Factor Framework
+ Connection to emerging research in ACEs and HOPE
+ Familiarization with the training design
+ Demonstration of training activities from STRONG
+ Collaborative Learning: training presentation for each Protective Factor
+ Implementation planning
+ Follow-up consultation tailored to the needs of your group
+. Certification as a National STRONG Trainer
Hosted by the co-authors of STRONG: Maureen Durning and Jane Zink
This experience will improve your practice if you:
+ work directly with families, children, or young adults
+ provide training to anyone who works with families or young adults
+ lead a team of direct service providers or trainers
+ develop or improve systems that serve families and children
+ lead an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families
Day 1
Looking Within
Sharing the Story: Focus on the Protective FactorTM Framework and the latest research that supports the approach. We must have a broad, deep, and personal understanding of the framework to make the most of every training opportunity.
Day 2
The External
Knowledge to Action: Focus on preparing to create a Strengthening Families training plan based on your trainer style, learner style, target audience, and organizational/systemic needs.

Practice: Participants will demonstrate at least one activity from STRONG, with feedback from our peers and the authors, suggestions for adaptations for virtual or live events, various audiences and timeframes.
